The ultra-liberalist Javier Milei elected president of Argentina "Today the reconstruction begins, no to half measures"
Surprisingly, Javier Milei beats Economy Minister Sergio Massa and promises to stop the decline of the country, currently immobilized by a serious economic crisis. “Although the situation is grim, I want to tell you that Argentina has a future.”
“Today begins the end of Argentine decadence. Today we turn the page and resume the path we should never have lost. Today the model of the state that impoverishes and blesses only some while the majority of Argentines suffers ends. Today we return to embracing the idea of freedom", declared the new current Argentine President.
The ultra-liberal Javier Milei made his first speech after winning the run-off with 86% of the votes. Javier Milei acquired the majority of votes by winning against the progressive Peronist candidate Sergio Massa.
“Obviously the results are not what we hoped for, and I spoke to Javier Milei to congratulate him and wish him well, because he is the president that the majority of Argentines have elected for the next four years”, commented the Argentine President.
This is a historic stage for the country. “We know there are people who will resist to maintain their privileges. We will be implacable: within the law everything, outside the law nothing", he warned, warning the caste, and asking the Peronist government to Alberto Fernandez di “take charge of the country until the end of the mandate”, continued Milei “Today one way of doing politics has ended and another has begun. Although the situation is grim, I want to tell you that Argentina has a future.", he states pressing hope.
