Vice President and Minister Tajani, in Paris at the International Humanitarian Conference for the population of Gaza
The international humanitarian conference for the population of Gaza took place in Paris. The Vice President of the Council Antonio Tajani was present.
The Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, attended Paris at International humanitarian conference for the people of Gaza, announced by French President Macron to coordinate the international community's support for Palestinian civilians.
In addition to that of the French Head of State and authorities of various countries, the participation of the President of the European Commission Von der Leyen, the President of the European Council Michel, the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority Shteyyeh, the Commissioner General of UNRWA has been confirmed Lazzarini, the UN Emergency Aid Chief Griffiths and the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Spoljaric Egger.
“Italy has condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist violence perpetrated by Hamas against Israeli civilians,” Tajani said, adding that “we must now think about doing our utmost to avoid a humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Italy is ready to do its part, as demonstrated by the sending of two humanitarian flights intended to provide immediate aid to civilians in the Strip”.
In this regard, it is also remembered, as announced by the Minister of Defense Crosetto, that the Italian Navy ship Vulcano, equipped with a hospital and operating rooms, is leaving for the Middle East to welcome wounded people from Gaza.
On the occasion of the Conference, the Vice Prime Minister will illustrate to the participants the importance that the Italian Presidency of the G7 in 2024 intends to attribute to situation in the Middle East, with the aim of reaching a credible and lasting solution to the crisis, which starts from the partners' support for the Palestinian National Authority and the resumption of a political process based on the principle “two peoples, two states”.
Friday 10 November Tajani will also participate in the opening of the works of the sixth edition of “Paris Peace Forum”, a platform that brings together governments, international organizations, civil society and the private sector. This edition of the Forum is dedicated to the reform of global finance, as a tool for fighting poverty and combating climate change.
