“We all agree that Ukraine has already moved closer to NATO in the last decade. We agree that the doors of NATO are open, that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance and that it is up to the Alliance and Ukraine to make this decision": declared by the Secretary General of the Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, at the end of the ministerial summit held in Brussels, underlining that Ukraine will not be invited to join NATO at the summit scheduled for Vilnius in July, but that it hopes to hold the first meeting of the new NATO council on that occasion. “We are working on the creation of a new NATO-Ukraine council in which Ukraine will have an equal position with NATO allies and will be able to decide on security issues of mutual interest.
