Police Chief Pisani at the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly: Italy presents the results of the "silver notice"

The Marrakesh session highlighted the successes of the pilot phase of INTERPOL's new tool for exchanging financial information and recovering criminal assets. The grant agreement for the second pilot phase was signed.

Il Chief of Police – Director General of Public Safety, Victor Pisani, participated today in the 93rd Session of the OIPC-INTERPOL General Assembly, taking place in Marrakech (Morocco) from 24 to 27 November 2025.

Next to him were the Deputy Director General of Public Security – Central Director of Criminal Police, Prefect Raffaele Grassi, and the Director of the International Police Cooperation Service, Senior Manager Lorenzo Bucossi.

During the works, the Colonel of the Guardia di Finanza Francesco Maione, Chairman of the working group of experts, illustrated to the member countries of the Organization the results obtained in the pilot phase of the silver notice, started on January 1, 2025 on Italian initiative.

La silver notice is the new INTERPOL news intended for the exchange of financial information useful for the localization and recovery of criminal assets.

Italy was the first country in the world to request the publication of a silver notice and, in the experimental phase which saw the adhesion of 51 Member States, the project has already led to significant operational results, confirming itsstrategic importance and full coherence with the departmental vision of promoting the “Italy Model” in the fight against transnational organized crime.

Following the resolution of the General Assembly, the pilot phase will continue for another year, with the possibility for other countries to join and publish silver notices and diffusions shareable with the Member States.

On the sidelines of the session, the Prefect Raffaele Grassi signed with the Executive Director for Resource Management of the General Secretariat of INTERPOL the grant agreement for second experimental phase of the initiative, which provides for financing of 1 million euro for the period 1 January 2026 – 30 June 2027.
