Moscow and Tehran: signing a strategic partnership to consolidate cooperation

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Massoud Pezeshkian met today in the Kremlin to sign a treaty of “global strategic partnership“, intended for strengthen cooperation between the two countries in many areas, including defense, energy and trade. The agreement marks a further step in the alliance between Moscow and Tehran, united by the desire to counter Western influence and reduce the impact of international sanctions.

"This treaty will give a great impetus to the development of our relations and will constitute a solid basis for the future.,” the Iranian president said during the signing ceremony. Putin, for his part, called the treaty an opportunity for “strengthen almost all areas of cooperation between our two countries".

The meeting in the Kremlin also saw the discussion of issues of regional and global relevance, including developments in the Middle East and the Iranian nuclear program. Pezeshkian also stressed the possibility of new agreements with Moscow is preferably used for construction of a nuclear power plant in Iran, declaring that “Russia is a strategic and fraternal partner".

A report that challenges the West

In recent years, Russia and Iran have intensified their cooperation, aided by the international isolation imposed by sanctions. Both countries aim to build a counterweight to US influence and their allies, with an eye on growing collaboration with China.

The partnership also extends to mutual support in the international arena, from the conflict in Ukraine to the Middle East. Iran and Russia are key partners in supporting the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria and are working together to strengthen their influence in the region.

The conflict in Ukraine continues

Meanwhile, the conflict does not stop, and continues to occupy a central role in Moscow's agenda. During the night, Russian forces Russian forces continued their attack, hitting institutions and companies.
