Kiev's armed forces arrive in Donetsk. Full support for Russia comes from North Korea

Kiev's armed forces liberated three villages in the Donetsk region, in eastern Ukraine. These are the villages of Blahodatne, Neskuchne and Makarivka which are located along the Mokri Yaly river. This was announced by military spokesman Valeriy Shershen.

Meanwhile, the North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un expressed "full support and solidarity" and willingness to build closer strategic ties with Russia in his congratulatory message to President Vladimir Putin on Russia Day, June 12.

Kim stated that the friendly relations between the North and Russia are a "valuable strategic asset" and your country will make every effort to develop such cooperative ties, the state news agency KCNA reported.

Russia Day is the day dedicated to the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) of 12 June 1990, whose approval by the First Congress of People's Deputies marked the beginning of the constitutional reform of the state Russian Soviet.

The Northern leader stated “its willingness to commit to closer cooperation strategy between North Korea and Russia", KCNA continued in its dispatch. Kim said that the Russian people's struggle to counter the move of “hostile forces to deprive Moscow of its sovereignty and security” entered one “new decisive phase” and the North Korean people are extending their “full support and solidarity” to Russia.

Kim's message reiterated the North's support for Russia in its war on Ukraine: Pyongyang ha described the conflict as a US "proxy" aimed at destroying Moscow and, in this regard, condemned Western military aid to Kiev.

Finally, the North has strengthened its close ties with Russia despite international condemnation for aggression against Ukraine, amid accusations that Pyongyang also supplied weapons to Moscow.
