Joe Biden and Xi Jinping summit, dialogue between the two leaders resumed
The meeting between the two leaders ended with the ambition of "overcoming differences" in a world "large enough for the coexistence and success of China and the United States"
The bilateral meeting, held in a secret location in California, between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping ended after four hours. A necessary summit from which the positive results hoped for by the international community were obtained.
The USA and China needed a truce, for both political and economic reasons, the American President wanted to avoid a conflict with Beijing and the Chinese President needed to overcome the current brake on his economic growth.
“Global peace and development”, are the two topics of the summit communicated by Beijing on the eve of the meeting with the American leader.
The two leaders agreed to resume political, economic and military dialogue with a view to “understand each other clearly and ensure that competition does not lead to conflict”, cooperating together “from climate to artificial intelligence”, has explained Joe Biden
The Chinese President also expressed himself positively, on the sidelines of the meeting with the American leader, declaring that he believes in a “promising future” of US-China relations.
The first concrete agreement between the two countries concerns the climate. The US and China have signed a declaration that they will collaborate on “one of the greatest challenges of our time”. The goal is to intensify the cooperation on methane and support the development of renewable energy by 2030.
