Italy celebrates the 80th anniversary of the United Nations: a renewed commitment to peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

On the occasion of "UN Day" 2025, the Farnesina reaffirms Italy's role in international multilateralism. Tajani: "Proud of our election to the Human Rights Council and of our support for the Olympic Truce."

Italy celebrates the 80th anniversary of the United Nations: a renewed commitment to peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

On the occasion of United Nations Day 2025, which marks the80th anniversary of the founding of the UN Italy renews its commitment to a effective and supportive multilateralism, founded on the promotion of peace, protection of human rights and Sustainable Development.

THE'"One Day" is celebrated every year 24 October, date on which, in 1945, came into force United Nations Charter, officially sanctioning the birth of the Organization.

Eighty years later, the founding principles of peace, justice, human dignity, equality and social progress remain firm and continue to guide the Italian foreign policy.

2025 represents a doubly significant year for Italy, which also celebrates the 70th anniversary of accession to the UN (14 December 1955).

Our country actively participated in the 80th anniversary celebrations, both in Rome, At the FAO il 16 October, both a New York al glass palace.

In Rome, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu they inaugurated the Museum and Network for Food and Agriculture – MuNe, funded by Italian cooperation, which promotes the culture of food sustainability.

In New York, Italy was Partners of the exhibition "United in life, united in the future", inaugurated on 21 October from Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

“We are living in a historical moment marked by the highest number of active conflicts since the Second World War: Our country will continue to work for peace and international cooperation.”

Italy thus reaffirms its multilateral vocation and its active role in United Nations, in line with a diplomatic tradition based on dialogue, respect for international law and the promotion of universal humanitarian values.
