Italy's commitment in the Middle East: Tajani on a mission for peace and cooperation

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, is in Israel and Palestine for a diplomatic mission time to promote dialogue, consolidate peace and strengthen economic cooperation. During the visit, Tajani will meet with the main Israeli and Palestinian authorities, reaffirming Italy's commitment to the reconstruction of Gaza, to humanitarian aid and to the development of new investment opportunities to foster stability.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, is on a mission to Israel and Palestine, where he will meet the Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gideon Sa'ar, and the Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Mohammed Mustafa.

"My visit aims to demonstrate Italy's commitment to consolidate peace through dialogue and to build a future of hope in the Middle East." declared Minister Tajani. "The entry into force of the agreement offers a historic opportunity for the Israeli people, for the Palestinian people and for the entire region." continued the Minister, stressing that Italy has supported all mediation efforts to end the hostilities and is ready to do its part, together with international partners, to help ensure peace and promote reconstruction.

"I will confirm to the Israeli and Palestinian authorities the Italian Government's commitment to alleviate the painful conditions of the civilian population that has suffered so much. Our humanitarian interventions will continue and will be further strengthened also with the Food for Gaza initiative“, indicated the Minister, who will emphasize to the counterparts the importance of allowing large-scale access of humanitarian aid throughout the Strip.

 Tajani will therefore reiterate the maximum attention that the Italian Government gives to the issue of the post-war reconstruction of Gaza. The theme of thehumanitarian assistance to the population will also be the focus of a meeting that the head of the Farnesina will have with the Patriarch of Jerusalem of the Latins, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

Finally, in Israel, the Minister will also chair, together with Minister Sa'ar, a meeting with the business community, which will be attended by the President of ICE Agency Matteo Zoppas.The meeting will provide an opportunity to illustrate investment opportunities between the two countries, within the framework of growth diplomacy initiatives that we want to continue to explore, alongside our companies." Tajani said. "Economic cooperation, investments that can be built with presence not only in Israel but throughout the region will help stabilize the area. The path to pacification will be long and complex, but it must be undertaken with these tools too”.
