Italian Export: Tajani presents the new Action Plan for extra-EU markets

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, presents the Action Plan for Italian Exports in high-potential non-EU markets. The initiative aims to support the internationalization of Italian companies through missions, fairs, financial support and strategic agreements to expand business opportunities abroad.

Today, Friday 21 March, at Villa Madama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani will present an Action Plan to the associations of the Italian productive world for the 'acceleration of exports to high-potential non-EU markets.

"The Government intends to work alongside our companies to support their exports and internationalization through a coordinated set of interventions. The Action Plan is a new concrete tool, which will be implemented through teamwork between the Farnesina and the agencies of the “Sistema Italia” to promote dialogue between Italian companies, local operators and foreign counterparts, supporting economic cooperation and promoting trade opportunities“, commented Tajani.

In 2024 Italian exports recorded particularly significant results in non-EU markets: 17,6 billion Euros in Türkiye (+23,9% compared to the previous year), 7,9 billion in UAE (+ 19,4%), 6,6 billion euros in Mexico (+ 7,4%), 5,8 billion in Brazil (+ 8,1%), 6,2 billion euros in Saudi Arabia (+ 27,9%), 5,2 billion euros in India (+ 1%).

Among the priorities are also the African countries, which have totalled over 20 billion in exports; ASEAN with 10,7 billion euros in exports and an increase of 10,3% and the Western Balkans with 6,5 billion euros and +13,4%.

Il Action Plan for Italian Exports includes a series of measures such as: institutional and business missions, Strengthening of trade fair activities, financial support for exports, stipulation of agreements with international distribution chains and digital platforms, opening of new offices abroad by the “export hub” agencies in strategic markets.

At the event the heads of ICE, CDP, SACE and Simest and the main trade associations of the manufacturing world will be present. On this occasion, the model guide on “growth diplomacy” will also be presented, which the Italian Embassies in the target countries of the Action Plan are developing in order toto provide concrete and specialized information to companies interested in developing business activities in these markets.
