Italian diplomacy at work for Alberto Trentini: the Government "requests maximum discretion"
This morning at Palazzo Chigi a meeting was held on the case concerning the arrest of Alberto Trentini, the Italian humanitarian worker detained in Venezuela together with seven other Italian-Venezuelans. Minister Antonio Tajani, Minister Matteo Piantedosi, and others representatives of the institutions reiterated the Government's ongoing commitment to resolving the matter as soon as possible. Minister Tajani also expressed his closeness to Trentini's mother during a telephone conversation, assuring that the case is being followed with the utmost attention.
This morning it took place in Palazzo Chigi a meeting dedicated to the situation of the compatriot Alberto Trentini, a humanitarian worker detained in Venezuela, along with seven other Italian-Venezuelan citizens recently arrested. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, the Interior Minister, Matteo Piantedosi, the Undersecretary of the Prime Minister, Alfredo Mantovano, the Intelligence leaders and the Chief of Police, Vittorio Pisani.
Il The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Embassy in Caracas are following the case by Alberto Trentini with the utmost attention from the beginning, activating all possible channels to guarantee a positive and timely solution.
The Government reiterates the need to maintain maximum discretion by the press in order to promote the success of the affair.
During the meeting, the Minister Tajani had a telephone conversation with his mother by Alberto Trentini to express closeness and reassure her on the commitment of the institutions.
