49 Palestinian students arrive in Italy thanks to the "university corridors" from Gaza: the Italian government's humanitarian commitment continues.
Two special Guardia di Finanza flights, departing from Amman and coordinated by the Civil Protection Department, will bring 49 young Palestinian scholarship holders to Italy. Minister Tajani and Minister Bernini will welcome them.

The initiative of the continues successfully “university corridors” from Gaza, a project of international solidarity and cooperation that today allows 49 Palestinian students to reach Italy to continue their studies at our country's universities. The young people, beneficiaries of scholarships awarded by the Italian university system, they started from Amman on board of two special flights of the Guardia di Finanza, organized with the support of the Civil protection and European Civil Protection MechanismIn partnership with CRUI (Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities).
The students, who passed through Jordan after leaving Gaza with the assistance of the Italian diplomatic and consular representations, will land in the evening at the airport of Rome Ciampino. A part of the group will then continue towards Milano Linate. To welcome them there will be the Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani , Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini, who personally accompanied the scholarship holders from Amman to Italy.
Representatives of the 22 Italian universities which will host the students: Bergamo, Brescia, Camerino, Catania, Ferrara, Milano Bicocca, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Naples Federico II, Naples Parthenope, Padua, Parma, Perugia (University and University for Foreigners), Eastern Piedmont, Rome “La Sapienza”, Rome “Tor Vergata”, Siena (University for Foreigners), Turin (Polytechnic and University of Studies), Udine, Urbino and Varese-Insubria.
With this new arrival, The total number of Palestinian students and researchers rises to 88 welcomed in Italy thanks to the university corridors from Gaza, the result of an intense diplomatic commitment with transit authorities — Israel and Jordan — currently allowing exit from Gaza only for humanitarian or family reasons. At the same time, diplomatic contacts continue to allow the arrival of additional groups of students. To date, they are over 150 scholarships awarded within the project IUPALS (Italian Universities for Palestinian Students), which involves 41 Italian universities.
Together with the students, they will also arrive in Italy 16 Palestinian citizens destined for family reunification. With this new contingent, There are approximately 1.200 Palestinians welcomed in our country since the beginning of humanitarian operations. The initiative confirms Italy's role as bridge of solidarity and cooperation in the Mediterranean, at the forefront of ensuring the right to education even in situations of international crisis.
