Works from the most important Parisian collections and galleries at the “Homage to Mirò” exhibition at the Revoltella Civic Museum in Trieste.
Visiting the exhibition “Homage to Miró"The Revoltella Civic Museum of Trieste, dedicated to great master of Surrealism and curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, Maïthé Vallès-Bled and Vincenzo Sanfo, you can admire some works from important collectors and Parisian galleries. In particular, they stand out “Femme aux trois Cheveux”, from the Constellation series (1975, oil on canvas) property of Helene Bailly, “ Signs and Figurations” (1935, watercolour, ink and inscriptions on paper) from Galerie de la Présidence, “Personnage dans la Nuit III” (1965, grease pencil, watercolour, gouache and wash on paper), “Two Personnages” (1937, oil, gouache and watercolor on paper) and an untitled watercolour, charcoal and pencil on paper from 1949, all from private collections of Galerie Lelong.
“The Constellations are the heart of Miró's work” – underlines the curator Maïthé Vallès-Bled, Honorary Chief Conservator of the Museums of France – remembering the Master's words: the night, the music and the stars began to play an important role in the suggestion of my paintings. From the Constellations of 1939-1941 to the works of the Seventies which evoke a cartography of the sky, passing through the more abstract experience of monochromes – states Maïthé Vallès-Bled – each of his works is dominated by an expression of extreme freedom in which all the signs disappear. It is a personal and poetic cosmogony, in an innovative and avant-garde pictorial language”.
The exhibition - open from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 19.00, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 09.00 to 20.00 (closed on Tuesdays) – offers an itinerary created specifically for Trieste and for the Revoltella Museum space, with around 80 works, including paintings, tempera paintings, watercolours, drawings, sculptures and ceramics from French museums and private collectors. “Homage to Miró” is promoted by the Municipality of Trieste – Department of Culture and Tourism Policies, with the support of the Trieste Convention & Visitors Bureau and PromoTurismoFVG, and is produced by Navigare Srl with the co-production of Diffusione Cultura Srl.
