Vicenza: Torre del Tormento facades restored thanks to 350.000 Euros from NextGeneratioEU fund.

It was revealed later four months of work on the restored Torre del Tormento, the subject of an intervention worth 350.000 € financed by the European fund NextGeneratioEU within the Pnrr (Mission 5, component 2, investment 2.1).

The works involved the conservative restoration of the wall facing of the 12th century building, once a city prison, connected to the Basilica through the Bissari arch in Piazza delle Erbe.

«We have completed a significant construction site – comments the councilor for public works Cristiano Spiller – which allowed us both to secure the facades of the medieval tower from which some material had detached, and to enhance a monument located in the heart of the city. The works, which should have been completed in September, were instead completed two months early, despite the bad weather: a nice business card for the city, in the heart of the tourist season."
