The OIV celebrates Verona for its central role in the wine sector. Caner: "Recognition that highlights Veneto's primacy in world exports".
Verona proclaimed “International City of Vine and Wine”.
"Starting next November 29th, Verona will be able to boast another title, after that of 'city of love'. It will be officially proclaimed 'International City of Vine and Wine' by the OIV, a recognition that honours the entire wine sector and a territory like Veneto which this year too marks a boom in exports at a global level".
Regional Councillor for Agriculture Federico Caner expresses satisfaction for the mention given to Verona by the International Organization of Vine and Wine, which includes 50 states and represents 87% of world production and 71% of world consumption.
"This recognition - goes on Caner - It comes a few months after the OIV Wine Ministerial Meeting held in Verona in April thanks to Minister Lollobrigida, and is the confirmation of the great role of a territory that increasingly identifies with a product. Every year this bond is renewed with Vinitaly, which in 2024 celebrated its 56th edition with 4.000 wineries, 1.200 top buyers, 70.000 visitors, 65 countries represented".
"Veneto is the region where the most wine is produced in Italy and the one that exports the most in the world - he concludes Caner -. This recognition in Verona is therefore more than deserved, and for us a great honor.".
