Brindisi: From the provincial library to the #MediaPorto of Brindisi.
Il next July 10, 2023 at 19.00 pm will be inaugurated, al n°1 of Viale Commenda, the MediaPort of Brindisi, a project financed by the Puglia Region as part of the Community Library Program and implemented by the Province of Brindisi.
Il new cultural space, included in the System of Poli Biblio Museali of Puglia region, is dedicated to growth of the new generations in the perspective of a technologically advanced future at the same time humanly sustainable. The binder that holds the two apparently distant aspects together is creativity: the expressive and communicative need of people in the game of relationships.
Il MediaPorto – which emerges as a center linked above all to multimedia and in particular to the audiovisual sector with a view to opening up dialogue towards the countries and cultures of the Mediterranean – testifies and gives rise to the idea of a center for culture, fully inserted into the urban fabric, a space of prestige and beauty suited to contemporaneity, at the service of the community. A library "port", where you can access and stop safely, a place of everyday city life dedicated to people and the growth of their human and cultural sensitivity.
- spazi of the #MediaPorto are spacious and welcoming: in the center a "square" where reading a book, listening to music, seeing a film is possible while all around, the flow of life and work of the #MediaPorto, does not stop. A square where students, citizens, visitors become protagonists of the stories narrated by books and move between work and teaching spaces, to experience the library as an extraordinary daily event. And, as in all self-respecting squares, there is even space for a small bar.
They participate at the evening of inaugurazione: Loredana Capone, President of the Regional Council of Puglia; Grazia di Bari, Delegate Councilor for Cultural Policies, Tangible and Intangible Heritage and Village Enhancement, Puglia Region; Toni Matarrelli, President of the Province of Brindisi; Pino Marchionna, Mayor of the City of Brindisi; Erion Veliaj, Mayor of Tirana; Aldo Patruno, General Director of the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Promotion of the Territory of the Puglia Region; Jonid Jorgji, Director of the creative industries agency for the municipality of Tirana; Simonetta Dellomonaco, Creator of the MediaPorto project.
Il evening program provides for the signing of an agreement of cultural cooperation between MediaPorto di Toast e the Agency for Creative Industries of Tirana in the presence of the Mayor of the Albanian capital Erion Veljai.
in this days following the inauguration will follow a cycle of guided tours aimed at cultural associations, to young people, to citizens and to those who want to know and explore the vocations and activities of the new cultural space to build and strengthen its aggregative potential together.
