Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani will host the presentation of the Jubilee of Bands and Popular Music, an event that will involve Italian municipalities and the diplomatic network to promote local musical traditions.
Tomorrow, Tuesday 18 February, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani will open an event at the Farnesina to present the “Jubilee of Bands and Popular Music“, which will be held on May 10th and 11th.
The Jubilee of Bands and Popular Music will see the involvement of all the Municipalities of Italy, and in particular those who have joined the "Roots tourism” – a project included in the PNRR that promotes tourism for Italians and people of Italian origin living abroad. Thanks also to the participation of Mayors from all over the country, the The Jubilee of Musical Bands and Popular Music will also anticipate the other great jubilee event dedicated to the Institutions, scheduled for June 20.
The jubilee event in May will also be an important opportunity for Italy to celebrate and showcase to the world the richness of Italy's local traditions. To this end, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made the diplomatic-consular network available to facilitate the collection of applications from abroad. In May 2024, the Farnesina established the “National and international table for the promotion of popular and amateur music”, that supports and coordinates these activities in Italy and abroad, in order to protect, enhance and promote the musical cultural heritage of the territories.
The event will also be attended by Pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Monsignor Rino Fisichella, the President of the National and International Table for the Promotion of Popular and Amateur Music, Antonio Corsi, the Mayor of Numana, Gianluigi Tombolini, and the Ecclesiastical Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Monsignor Marco Malizia.
