Before Sondrio Festival, the International Exhibition of Documentaries on Parks, that the From 15 to 17 and from 21 to 24 November it will be elevated to the capital of nature. In recent weeks, Progetto Alfa, with the Biennale, has cloaked Sondrio in art, literature and theatre, involving men and women of culture, in its various expressions, from all over Europe.
The Municipal Administration supported the efforts of the organizers of Progetto Alfa, guaranteeing a contribution and making available structures and equipment and offering logistical support. For a more than satisfactory result both for the high artistic value of the proposals and for the interest aroused. The great names of culture and art and the hundreds of works presented to compete for the literary prizes certified the success of the Biennale, which was launched in the Council Hall of Palazzo Pretorio in the presence of the Councilor for Culture, Education and Instruction Marcella Fratta.
«As a municipal administration – states the councilor Fractal – since the previous mandate we have welcomed and supported the association Progetto Alfa as an expression of a youthful planning that wants to commit itself to the reality in which it lives and sees in the Municipal Administration an important interlocutor for the realization of its dreams. Expanding the spaces of active participation is a duty of the Administration that we have always supported in our willingness to listen to the needs of citizens who see in art, literature and theatrical expression an opportunity to nourish the spirit. The Biennale was also an opportunity to showcase our city as welcoming and inclusive. Our offices have done their best to accommodate all the works and ensure that they find their proper place. The success of the initiatives requires the collaboration of all so that the events enter the social fabric with a view to continuously improving the education of citizens. The atmosphere in the city during the days of the Biennale – concludes the councilor Fractal - it was a festive atmosphere also thanks to all the participants who honoured our city with their presence and their creativity».
A test passed for Sondrio which revealed its most intimate and reflective side, shining a spotlight on cultural venues, confirming a versatility that makes it suitable for hosting major sporting events, the Trofeo Città di Sondrio volleyball tournament last month, the Valtellina Wine Trail in November, as well as cultural events.
A calendar of events that grows bigger every year, giving the city and its residents memorable moments.
