The project tells the story of the sacrifice of those eight policemen and of all the women and men who lost their lives alongside Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino
Rome: the third episode of the series “I ragazzi delle sconti”, dedicated to Emanuela Loi, was screened at the Cinema Barberini.
A preview took place on Monday 20th at the Barberini Cinema in Rome, screening of the third episode of the series "The boys of the escorts", entitled "Io devo Continuare", dedicated to the State Police agent Emanuela Loi, who on 19 July 1992 lost her life in the massacre in Via D'Amelio together with the judge Paolo Borsellino and to agents Agostino Catalano, Walter Eddie Cosina, Claudio Traina and Vincenzo Fabio Li Muli.
The event was attended by the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, the Minister of Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi and the Chief of Police – General Director of Public Security Prefect Vittorio Pisani.
The project, created by the Department of Public Security with the company 42° Parallelo with the contribution of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Mission Structure National Anniversaries and National and International Sports Events, tells the sacrifice of those eight policemen and all the women and men who lost their lives alongside Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, placing them at the center of the narrative in an intimate portrait capable of providing an unprecedented image of their daily life, made up of dedication to the State and love for their families. In 1992, the year of the brutal mafia massacres, together with Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and the three men of his escort, Rocco Dicillo, Vito Schifani and Antonio Montinaro, also lost their lives; in the massacre in via D'Amelio, five policemen from the escort died alongside Paolo Borsellino, Emanuela Loi, Agostino Catalano, Vincenzo Li Muli, Walter Eddie Cosina, Claudio Traina.
The docuseries, of which the episodes dedicated to Vito Schifani and Antonio Montinaro have already been broadcast, has the aim of bringing to light value models specific to the State Police, raising awareness among the public, especially the younger ones, on the topic of memory and the culture of legality. It is essential to tell subsequent generations about the commitment of those who dedicated their lives to justice, defending healthy values and principles.
Accompanying the viewer on a journey through dreams, in the sense of duty of the 24-year-old Sardinian girl, was Claudia Loi, her sister, who recounted their relationship of total sharing of life. Then she recounts her attendance of the course at the Scuola Allievi Agenti in Trieste and her meeting with Emanuele Filiberto, also a student agent, with whom she was united by a relationship of great friendship. The docu-film continues with Emanuela's emotions, her family's worries for a "mission" that will take her far from her homeland, passing through her first service to protect Judge Borsellino, up to the day of the massacre. The life of Emanuela Loi flows slowly on the screen, accompanied by the images of her niece, Agent Emanuela Loi, born four months after the massacre, also a policewoman, who throughout the story will retrace the journey from Cagliari to Palermo on board the car that belonged to her aunt., to learn about and relive the most important stages of his aunt's existence and remember them, sharing and transmitting the principles of legality among the students of the educational institutions.
“The Stock Boys. I must continue”, written by Diana Ligorio, Alessia Arcolaci with Luigi Montebello, will be broadcast on Thursday 23 May on RAI 3 in the late evening.
