Latina, another work by Cambellotti on loan. Mayor Celentano: “Culture has no borders”.
In the aftermath of the documentary "Duilio Cambellotti, art without end", broadcast on Rai 5, the council of mayor Matilde Celentano loaned a work by the artist to the "Appia Moderna" exhibition.
This is the drawing "Three ends: goat skull, ox skull, ear of corn", created by Cambellotti in 1923. The work, preserved in the civic museum of the same name, shows attention to the observation of details for the animal world and nature throughout his artistic career also lived in the Agro Pontino.
The drawing will be exhibited from 19 May to 13 October 2024 in the exhibition organized by the Appia Antica Archaeological Park in Rome.
"The municipal administration has among its strategic objectives - said Mayor Celentano - that of pursuing a cultural policy, which attributes to art a strategic value for the social and economic growth of the population and the territory and considers cultural heritage an important resource to be safeguarded, supported, enhanced and promoted. The loan of works of art contributes to achieving these goals. In September we granted the Annunciation by Pippo Rizzo, belonging to the heritage of the Municipality of Latina, to the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art. Visiting the exhibition, I was able to verify the great potential of this type of operation. I believe that culture has no borders. For a city, like ours, a finalist in the national competition Italian Capital of Culture 2026, the loan of works of art represents a strong point".
"Returning to the artist Duilio Cambellotti, in this period he is at the center of various cultural initiatives. Already in January, in fact, we were asked for two drawings, the Prospectus and the Axonometry of 'The great artistic hut' of 1911. We have loaned them and they will be exhibited in Genoa from 24 April to 2024 September 4 with the exhibition ' Nostalgia. Stories and expressions of a feeling'. Following this, the work loaned with today's resolution will be appreciated in the Roman exhibition. Last night, with an initiative by Rai Cultura, the documentary on Cambellotti was broadcast, written and directed by Claudia Pampinella and produced by 'DXNUMX srl'. An excellent job, followed by a varied and interested audience. I congratulate the director".
