In Matera the “General States of Cultural Diplomacy”, the meeting of the Directors of the Cultural Institutes

The Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, is chairing the institutional session of the General States of Cultural Diplomacy, which is held at the Raffaele Gervasio Auditorium in Matera.

“Culture is an extraordinary vehicle for building solid and fruitful international relations: since the beginning of my mandate we have given ample space to cultural diplomacy, strengthening our network of Cultural Institutes abroad and offering initiatives aimed at making our historical, cultural and literary heritage known” commented the Minister, which also highlighted the strong economic value of the sector, which also includes sectors such as design and fashion, with an estimated value of around 600 billion euros annually e more than 280 thousand companies active in the sector.

The Minister of University and Research will also speak at the event, Anna Maria Bernini, the Minister for Institutional Reforms and Regulatory Simplification, Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, the Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of Education and Merit, Paola Frassinetti, and the President of the Basilicata Region, Vito Bardi.

The conference, which will be developed between November 5th and 6th, will be an opportunity to deepen the commitment of the Farnesina in the renewal of the cultural offering of the Italian Cultural Institutes. Among the topics that will be discussed: the strengthening of innovative proposals capable of speaking to young people in the five continents, the promotion of our territories, the advancement of the quality of the cultural offering.

The event, which takes place annually, represents an important moment of dialogue on Italian cultural promotion in the world, punctuated by debates, seminars and working groups.
