Forlì-Cesena: For the “National Tree Day” the Forestry Department involves the students of Romagna with various initiatives

On the occasion of the "National Tree Day” the Carabinieri, through its Forestry specialty, has undertaken a series of initiatives in the field of environmental education and respect for the law throughout the territory of the provinces of Forlì-Cesena and Rimini.

In particular, through the involvement of numerous students located in different schools located in the municipalities of Forlì, Cesena, Sarsina, Verghereto, Mercato S., Dovadola, Castrocaro T., Modigliana and Tredozio (for the province of Forlì-Cesena), as well as Rimini, Novafeltria, S. Agata Feltria, S. Arcangelo di Romagna, Misano Adriatico, Morciano di Romagna, Verucchio, Torriana, Pennabilli and Novafeltria (for the province of Rimini), together with the participation of some municipal administrations, the Carabinieri Forestali donated a total of 140 seedlings to various school buildings, planted through the direct involvement of pupils from nursery and primary schools.

Through this small but concrete symbolic gesture, the force intended to consolidate a real "pact" between generations, aimed at forming a "mature" environmental awareness. All the donated plants, born and grown in the nurseries managed by the Carabinieri Forestali, will be appropriately georeferenced, so that it is possible to constantly monitor the total number of trees planted by the schools involved, their location, as well as the results obtained in terms of carbon storage.

The choice of the species to be planted was agreed upon and proposed by the Carabinieri Forestali military personnel who, thanks to their experience in the botanical field, offered a valuable contribution in order to identify species typical of the area in which the schools had decided to carry out the planting.

In particular, the bright red fruit of the rowan tree has gone to color the parks of Verghereto; in Rimini the schools will be able to celebrate the tricolor with the strawberry tree that with the green of its leaves, the red of the fruits and the pure white of the flowers, recalls the symbol of the homeland. Among cherry trees ready for vegetative rest, prickly junipers and fragrant rosemary, all the Forestry Carabinieri of Forlì-Cesena and Rimini, have enriched the schools of both provinces with greenery and oxygen.

In this way, the younger generations will be able to support the Carabinieri in the attempt to generate a real "widespread forest" throughout the Romagna region.: a concrete commitment to encourage the participation of young people in environmental protection and the fight against climate change.
