Campobasso: The exhibition “The sounds and the bone” with Vincenzo Lombardi and his text “The «La Lapa» collection. Traditional music from Molise recorded by Alberto M. Cirese”.

The review continues “The sounds and the bone”, proposed by the Municipality of Campobasso, composed of five meetings with a strong ethnoanthropological and ethnomusical interest, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage and the State Archives of Campobasso, the University of Molise - BIOCULT Research Center and the Municipal Library and Media Library of Campobasso, .
The appointment is at Circolo Sannitico Thursday 23 February, at 17.30 pm, and will host Vincent Lombardi with his text “The «La Lapa» collection. Traditional music from Molise recorded by Alberto M. Cirese”.
The volume, Edizioni Macchiamara 2022, is introduced by the preface by Maurizio Agamennone and closed by the afterword by Pietro Clemente and presents 119 songs and 7 interviews contained in the 4 attached CDs. These are recordings of traditional Molise songs made by the anthropologist Alberto Mario Cirese of 1954 in Bagnoli del Trigno, Fossalto and in the villages of Slavic origin Acquaviva Collecroce, Montemitro, S. Felice del Molise.
In addition to Vincenzo Lombardi, the professor will speak at the meeting Letizia Bindi, anthropologist and Director of the BIOCULT Center of the University of Molise e Gino Massullo, historian and coordinator of Edizioni Macchiamara.
The other events of the "The sounds and the bone" series consist of three dates from March to April. The first will be the 16 March, with Letizia Bindi and the video documentary “Rutas PatagonAppenninicas / Vie PatagonAppenniniche” (20'39, 2021), 'Costantino Nigra' Cultural Anthropology Award for the Visual Anthropology category. The second is scheduled for 30 March with John Carozza, focused on “Music and singing practices in Gambatesa between intergenerational transmission of knowledge and digitalisation of ethnomusical heritage”. For the final appointment, the 19th April, the theme will be the text of Stephen C. Cappannari e Leonard W. Moss “Anthropological studies in Molise. Bagnoli del Trigno 1954-1969” edited by Gino Massullo.
