Campobasso: Inauguration of the 21st edition of I'll tell you about a childhood book
Tuesday 2 May with Alessandro Riccioni
Campobasso: Inauguration of the 21st edition of I'll tell you about a childhood book.
Sky, sea, wind. Thus nature returns to teach children. He knows it well Alessandro Riccioni, poet and writer, who borrows some of the most evocative symbols from nature to communicate with little ones to discover the world and its meaning.
He has the task of inaugurating the twenty-first edition I'll tell you about a childhood book, the parallel project dedicated to the little ones of I'll tell you about a 2023 book the permanent laboratory on reading and narration - promoted and supported by the Municipality of Campobasso and created byItalian Readers Union, with the artistic and organizational direction of Brunella Santoli and the patronage of the Province of Campobasso.
It begins on the morning of Tuesday 2 May, in the Circolo Sannitico of Campobasso, with a double appointment dedicated to the children of the primary schools of the capital. During the two workshop meetings entitled “OF SKY, OF SEA, OF WIND” and “OF SLEEP, OF DREAMS, OF NAMES”, the author will help children discover a surprising collection of rhymes about sea fish, “minimal stories” in rhyming couplets accompanied by the effervescent illustrations of Vittoria Facchini.
Reading the pages of his book I am my name, young readers will have the opportunity to understand, through a poetic story, the strength of a personal name and the many nuances of the letters that compose it, the difficult and long journey of a child who leaves his homeland and the warmth of what he knows in search of a new home. In The Little Sleep, the author instead tells a story in which love and death are inextricably intertwined, on the border between dream and reality.
On the afternoon of Tuesday 2 May the author will again be in the company of the little readers, for Fables at a snack, scheduled at 16.30 pm in the Circolo Sannitico of Campobasso. The event confirms itself as one of the most awaited by children and families, recording high levels of participation. As per tradition, the meeting will end with a tasty snack to share all together.
At 18.30 pm, it will be the turn of TWO THINGS I KNOW ABOUT ME, AND, MAYBE, ABOUT POETRY, a meeting designed for teachers, parents, educators, booksellers, librarians to discuss important issues that concern the cultural growth of children.
On Wednesday 3 May, at 9.15 am and 11 am, in the Sannitico club of Campobasso, Riccioni will once again be in the company of middle school students for his meeting “OF TREES AND WORDS”, the story of a friendship with an ancient beech tree that has the colours, shapes and shades imagined by Marina Cremonini. A tree that loves wind and water, that has eyes and that knows how to find words. Alessandro has thought this way since he was a child. By telling us about the beech tree he talks to us about himself, about discoveries, wounds and desires, about a time that seems infinite but instead runs quickly. It reveals to us the beauty and at the same time the struggle of growing up.
