Brescia, reopening of the “Umberto Eco” reading room
Brescia, the “Umberto Eco” reading room reopens on Monday 15 June, the study space in via Mameli which is part of the Urban Library System. To guarantee users a safe stay and in compliance with current health provisions, it was necessary to reduce the available places and regulate the access conditions.
To access the reading rooms, the user must book their place online on the Municipality's website on the portalservizi.comune.brescia.it page in the "Appointments - Reservation at the counters" section, under the heading "Sala Umberto Eco", indicating the presence time slots (from 8,30 to 12,30 and from 13,30 to 18,30). It is possible to book multiple daily slots. The reservation is personal and must arrive by midnight of the previous day. The acceptance of the reservation will take place in real time, a receipt will be issued which must be shown at the entrance to the room. The seat reservation service will be activated from the morning of Saturday 24 June.
It will also be essential to wear a mask for the entire duration of your stay in the Study Room, sanitize your hands at the entrance to the room, have your body temperature measured using a thermoscanner (people with a temperature above 37.5° will not be able to enter) and fill out the form. self-declaration form relating to your health conditions. While staying in the room, safety distances and marked routes must be respected.
For the moment, the refreshment areas remain closed and it will not be possible to use the drink and snack dispensers as well as the lockers. The use of the lift is also prohibited, with the sole exception of people with motor disabilities.
To allow the ventilation of the premises, the necessary cleaning and sanitization operations of the rooms and individual workstations, it was necessary to change the opening hours. The room will be open from Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 12.30pm and from 13.30pm to 18.30pm while on Saturday from 9am to 12.30pm and from 13.30pm to 15pm. On Sunday the room will be closed.
