Brescia, new Brescia Musei Foundation 2020-2024, renews the sense of protection of artistic heritage

Brescia, Brescia Musei Foundation announces the establishment of the Board of Directors 2020–2024.
The meeting of the General Council of the Brescia Musei Foundation, held on 16 July 2020, recorded the approval of the final balance sheet as of 31 December 2019 as a profit.
On this occasion, the General Council underlined the assiduous work carried out during the year 2019 both with respect to the achievement of the statutory objectives and in terms of the impetus with which the Foundation was able to combine scientific and artistic-cultural activity with a renewed involvement of institutional and private realities of the territory.

The General Council took the opportunity to thank all the members of the Board of Directors and the outgoing Board of Auditors - lawyer. Francesca Bazoli, not. Bruno Barzellotti, engineer. Nicola Berlucchi, Dr. Silvano Franzoni, Dr. Umberta Gnutti, not. Mario Mistretta, Dr. Felice Scalvini, Dr. Roberto Mutti, Dr. Luisa Anselmi and lawyer. Andrea Malchiodi – for the valuable contribution provided to the Foundation during his four-year mandate.

In the new 2020-2024 recommendation, Fondazione Brescia Musei confirms its commitment to the protection and valorization of the heritage and the further strengthening of collaborations with local institutions and bodies. This objective will also be achievable thanks to the recomposition of the statutory board structure which sees the Chamber of Commerce and UBI Fondazione CAB nominate their representatives on the Board of Directors and on the Board of Auditors.

These are the appointments made by the founding members for the Board of Directors which took office today, Monday 20 July. The Municipality confirmed its members in the persons of the not. Bruno Barzellotti, lawyer. Francesca Bazoli, Dr. Silvano Franzoni and Dr. Umberta Gnutti Beretta.
ASM Foundation has confirmed its president, the lawyer. Felice Scalvini.
Chamber of Commerce has appointed Dr. Roberto Saccone, president of the Chamber itself.
UBI Fondazione CAB has appointed its president, Dr. Italo Folonari.

The Board of Auditors is instead composed of Dr. Luisa Anselmi, confirmed by the Municipality of Brescia, the representative. Giovanbattista Colangelo, jointly nominated by the Chamber of Commerce and the ASM Foundation and by Dr. Francesco Fortina, nominated by UBI CAB Foundation.

The Municipality of Brescia finally confirmed Dr. Marco Trentini in the role of delegate of the Mayor in the General Council, while the ASM Foundation has in turn confirmed Dr. Valentina Stefani, councilor of the ASM Foundation, in the General Council.

In the first meeting of the new Board of Directors held today, the newly installed councilors appointed the lawyer as their president. Francesca Bazoli.
“First of all, I would like to thank my fellow members of the Board of Directors who today give me the opportunity to continue the work undertaken almost two years ago at the service of my city and the extraordinary cultural heritage that belongs to it and which we would like to increasingly take on role connoting the city's identity" declares the president Francesca Bazoli "Together with the Board of Directors, the Scientific Committee that supports us, the director of the Foundation and all the staff who work with us, we have clear some great objectives that we intend to pursue in the next mandate and the ways in which to achieve them, just as we are very clear that the valorisation of the city's cultural heritage necessarily involves sharing the path with the entire city, in its components currently active in the territory, and is grafted onto a major development path undertaken by the generation that preceded us. We are on this path and we intend to continue further.

I would like to convey heartfelt thanks to the outgoing Board of Directors, with whom we have embarked on a path destined to leave lasting results which are the basis for the work of the coming years: the multi-year editorial partnership with Skira which places the Foundation in dialogue with the national cultural system and international; the new public-private pact Alliance for Culture which builds a bridge between the production system of our territory and the cultural institution of museums in the name of valorising our cultural identity; finally, a multi-year strategic cultural project that allows us to work immediately on the long-term horizon. Lastly, I would like to thank the cultural administration and in particular the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the sharing of objectives and the collaboration they constantly ensure for the Foundation, in full respect of its management autonomy".

“I am sure that I also interpret the thoughts of the Mayor by expressing my heartfelt thanks to the outgoing councilors and auditors” declares the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture Laura Castelletti “During their mandate the Foundation has really been able to do a lot and well, both in terms programming and management; they leave the new appointees with a good example to look up to. My best wishes to the new councilors for good work, certain that with their professionalism and experience, with the presidency of Francesca Bazoli and the direction of Stefano Karadjov, they will be able to take the goals of the Brescia Musei Foundation and, with it, of the our city."

The operational activities of the Brescia Musei Foundation will continue throughout the summer period with the planned cultural programming, while the work of the Board of Directors will be updated starting from September when, on the occasion of the first useful Council, the choices relating to the appointments of the Scientific Committee will be made explicit and the Foundation Director, with the aim of better facing the intense autumn season characterized by the imminent return of the Winged Victory of Brescia and its monumental installation in the Capitolium.
