Brescia, meeting for Dantophiles “Go to hell, Dante!”

Brescia, at 11am on 14 July 2020 everyone linked to the Siccomedante fb page: Luigi Garlando, author of the entertaining book for young people Vai all'Inferno, Dante!, he will be interviewed by journalist Irene Panighetti. On Facebook live, also advertised by the social channels of the Municipality of Brescia and the Bresciana and Cremonese Library Network which are active partners, it will be possible to participate in the chat to ask questions to Luigi Garlando, a cult writer for teenagers and also for those interested in spreading the passion for reading among young people.

The novel, between video games and football matches, offers the story of a boy, a little evil genius, who will meet Dante in person. The Divine Comedy, in total harmony with the mission of the SicComeDante project, has entered the stories of today with an operation of loving work on its language. Fluid hendecasyllables are the new words of the Supreme Protagonist. As Dante himself did by using the vernacular and not Latin for his masterpiece, so Garlando translates a story that remains divine for everyone.

In 2005 the author won the Premio Cento for My dad writes the war, and in 2008 the Premio Bancarella Sport for Ora sei una stella. As part of the 54th edition of the 2017 Strega Boys and Girls Prize, awarded in Bologna by a jury of very young people, Luigi Garlando was named winner for the 11-15 year old category for the book The Summer I Met Il Che. Fresh out, Go to Hell, Dante! was released in March 2020.
