The objective of the protocol is to encourage the participation of refugees in the life of the city through an integrated approach to services including welfare, demographic services, active employment policies, registry and residence registration procedures, social-health and family reunification services.

Just over a year after the signing of the Charter for Integration, drawn up by six large Italian cities (Bari, Milano, Naples, Palermo, Rome and Turin) with the UNHCR - UN Agency for Refugees, was signed today, Thursday 4 April, at 10.30 am, in the headquarters of the municipal Welfare department, in Piazza Chiurlia, the memorandum of understanding for the strengthening of the interinstitutional network for the inclusion of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in the municipal territory.
Thanks to the signing of the agreement, in which the Welfare councilor Francesca Bottalico will intervene, it will be possible to strengthen the “Spazio Comune” desk of the municipal multifunctional center Casa delle Culture for the adoption of a “one stop shop” approach in the provision of reception and inclusion services of the refugee communities present in the city. The municipal managers signed the protocol Nicola D'Onchia (Observatory sector for social inclusion and the fight against poverty) Giuseppe Ceglie (Heritage division), Rosalba Cirillo (Demographic, electoral and statistical services division), Marisa Lupelli (Programming, innovation and communication division, Porta job center Future) and the director of the ASL Bari Rosella Squicciarini.
