Ascoli Piceno: meeting in Trier between students of IIS Mazzocchi-Umberto I and Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium

The second phase of the twinning between the Mazzocchi-Umberto I Institute of Ascoli Piceno and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium of Trier, now in its 13th edition.

Thirteen students of the Tourist and International Relations Departments of the Mazzocchi-Umberto I Institute have stayed from September 30th to October 7th in Trier, accompanied by the teachers Rossana Sarchielli e Marina Melchiori, reciprocating the visit of their partners who in last April they were hosted in Ascoli.

The stay of Mazzocchi students in Trier included a rich cultural program: the children were able to learn about significant aspects of the Treviso area and culture and of Germany, starting with a visit to Trier guided by students from the partner high school, continuing with educational trips to Bonn to visit the interactive museum on German history since 1945, to Cologne to visit the famous Gothic cathedral, a world heritage site, and to Mainz, with the Gutenberg Museum, together with moments of leisure culminating in climbing at the adventure park.

The school exchange is made possible thanks to the support of the Municipal Administration of Ascoli Piceno and is part of the relations between the two partner cities of Ascoli and Trier, which have intensified in recent years at the direction of the Mayor Marco Fioravanti, with the collaboration of the municipal councilor Patricia Petracci and of the councilors with responsibility for Twinning, Nico Stallone in the previous mandate and Annagrace Of Nicola in the current one, involving not only the official delegations of the two municipal administrations, but also the world of schools, associations, productive activities, artists and local institutions of the two cities.
