The second edition of the “Health and safety… together!” competition is underway

The national competition is back “Health and safety… together! – Prevention and safety in the workplace are learned at school“, the contest to promote and spread the culture of accident risk prevention promoted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, in agreement with the Ministry of Education and Merit and in collaboration with Inail.

"The experience of the first edition of the contest "Health and safety... together!" has made it clear that our boys and girls have wonderful ideas, skills and sensitivity. With their works, they have demonstrated that prevention can be transformed from a word to a project, from an essential principle to a tangible action to protect human life. Through them, the message has come through loud and clear: safety is life - said the Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Marina Calderone -. Thanks to the training institutes that believed in this project from the very beginning. We look forward to seeing them again among the participants, together with the other entities that will choose to challenge themselves in creativity to bring the culture of safety into the lives of their students. And of all of us».

"This project represents, through participatory and creative formulas, an important educational opportunity for our students. Promoting a culture of safety means developing responsibility towards oneself, others and the context in which one operates, contributing to preventing accidents and injuries at work. Once again, school confirms itself as a fundamental pillar for the cultural, civic and social growth of our country", declared the Minister of Education and Merit, Joseph Vallettara.

"We are particularly pleased to collaborate this year on the second edition of the competition, which is also being launched close to the National Day for Safety in Schools, an anniversary that aims to be an opportunity to raise awareness and reflect on the importance of joint initiatives on the value of safety and prevention. For several years, Inail, as part of its educational mission on these issues, has promoted training and information activities both at central and territorial level aimed at the world of school and we are, therefore, always happy to support projects that aim to stimulate in students and all school staff the awareness of the indispensability of adopting correct and safe behavior and thus create a solid link between the world of school and that of work", commented the Inail President, Fabrizio D'Ascenzo.

In continuity with the project, educational and didactic proposals aimed at spreading the culture of safety carried out by the proposing administrations, the new call for proposals calls upon the creative ideas from teachers and students of all secondary schools, both state and private, and vocational education and training courses (IeFP), who, in their preferred form, will be able to propose their contribution on the value of prevention in health and safety in the workplace.

The competition's objectives include the desire to inform and train new generations in the culture of safety, understood as a collective heritage to be protected in every context of everyday life. An intent to be pursued through multilevel involvement and collaboration, so as to transform training on safety into a creative moment that enhances the talents of young people and their expressive abilities and adds content available to the community on the fundamental message of always adopting responsible behavior.

The deadline for sending the documents to the General Directorate for Health and Safety in the Workplace of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies will be 28 February 2025.

Each school may submit only one work that complies with the indications contained in article 4 of the announcement (click here to read the full text) and must be accompanied by the following attachments:
