Rai 2: countries that go Pesaro, on the trail of Gioachino Rossini.

According to tradition, Pesaro owes its name to the long waterway that crosses it, anciently called “Pisaurum”. Also known as the "Riviera of the hills", this land brings to mind ancient splendors. The artistic ferment is what has always distinguished it, so much so that, in 2017, it was declared the "Creative City of Music" by UNESCO.

Rai 2: countries that go Pesaro, on the trail of Gioachino Rossini.

“Countries you go to… places, sayings, municipalities…”the historic Rai Due program, created, written and hosted by Livio Leonardi, which is broadcast every Sunday afternoon from 14pm to 15pm, arrives in Pesaro.
Livio Leonardi will lead his audience on an urban journey through monuments and places in the city linked to powerful families, such as the Malatesta, the Sforza, the Dukes of Rovere. Dynasties that enriched the entire territory culturally and architecturally.
With the usual fairytale language, which has always distinguished the well-known Rai Due program, and that ability to bring the past to life in the television story, Livio Leonardi – awarded precisely for these reasons with important awards such as the Gold Medal of the Dante Alighieri Society for the diffusion of the Italian language and culture in the world – will accompany spectators to discover Pesaro and its history, following in the footsteps of one of its most illustrious citizens: Gioachino Rossini.

Starting from the elegant Piazza Lazzarini, where the famous musician and composer will welcome the host, the story will continue inside the Rossini Theatre. The stage space, created in 1600, was restored in the early nineteenth century and, at the inauguration in 1808, hosted for the first time one of Rossini's most famous operas: "La gazza ladra". Following the stages of the great composer's life, the story will continue in his birthplace, where Rossini spent the first six years of his life. The cameras will then move to the Church of the Name of God, and continue to discover Palazzo Olivieri, home of Gioachino Rossini's State Conservatory of Music. The itinerary dedicated to one of the greatest Italian composers will end with Palazzo Montani Antaldi, home of the Rossini National Museum. But it doesn't end there, because "Countries you go...places, sayings, municipalities..." will also offer a tasty parenthesis, with which it will reveal the technique that "refines" the taste and flavor of cheeses. Finally, again with Livio Leonardi - winner of the "VISIONS" International Award of the (Agnelli) Civita di Bagnoregio Foundation - we will immerse ourselves in the beauty of a protected natural area where land and sea merge, creating a unique and wonderful spectacle.
Countries you go to Pesaro… Coming soon on RAI 2.
