Pesaro 2024. Easter between museums and exhibitions: from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April museums and monuments open

From Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April, a long weekend between museums, archeology and exhibitions. A rich choice that does not stop at the historic center but goes towards the magnificent nature of the San Bartolo Park with the archaeological area of ​​Colombarone.

From Friday 29 March to Easter Monday, 4 continuous days of openings a Palazzo Mosca-Civic Museums with splendid collections of ceramics, paintings and decorative arts, Rossini House where you can breathe the special atmosphere of the composer's birthplace, al Rossini National Museum for a 360° journey into the world of genius and more Diocesan Museum which testifies, with archaeological finds and historical-artistic assets, the work of the Pesaro church over time. Thursday 28 March, the fourth Thursday of the month, will open to the public Civic Museums of Palazzo Ciacchi with the renewed exhibition offering paintings, ceramics and decorative arts from the Palazzo Mosca deposits. Thursday 28th and Saturday 30th March visits to the Doge's Palace to learn about the building that tells the story of the lordships of Pesaro.

Rich section for archaeology, always open to visitors from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April. At Palazzo Almerici, you visit the Oliverian Archaeological Museum cwhich documents a thousand years of history - from the Piceno period to the late imperial age - and is divided into four sections: the Piceno necropolis of Novilara, the lucus pisaurensis, the municipality of Pisaurum and the eighteenth-century collections. In the'archaeological area of ​​via dell'Abbondanza you can admire the remains of a noble residence from the early imperial age, richly decorated with mosaics. In the heart of San Bartolo Park the Colombarone area – with its Antiquarium – preserves the remains of a rich late-imperial residence on whose structures, starting from the mid-6th century AD, the Christian complex of the basilica of San Cristoforo ad Aquilam was established.

In the Pesaro Museums circuit there are also perfect places for two-wheel enthusiasts, with and without engine: from Friday to Monday doors open to Palazzo Gradari Bicycle Museum with 40 racing bikes in a chronological excursus from 1930 until today with the glorious history of the sustainable means of transport par excellence. In via Mameli, in the historic headquarters of Benelli, on Sunday and Monday we visit the Officine Benelli Museum with its precious collection of 150 motorcycles of the brand that made Pesaro great 'Land of riders and engines'.

And then a decidedly varied choice of exhibitions. At Palazzo Mosca double offer for lovers of painting and ceramics: in the mezzanine, Mario Logli. Guardian of beauty, monographic – whose catalog will be presented on Saturday 30 March – dedicated to one of the most active and appreciated protagonists on the artistic scene of the second half of the twentieth century who was able to preserve the traditions and history of his land and interpret the most complex challenges of contemporaneity. The most iconic works of a long career are on display. In the project room, The rebirth of majolica in Pesaro from Historicism to Art Deco with majolica and terracottas from the deposits of the Civic Museums from the period from 1870 to the late deco. At the Pescheria Visual Arts Center, 'Sculptures in the City' 1971/2024. From the public art of Arnaldo Pomodoro to the urban space of ten young authors, first stage of the Pesaro 2024 project 'From sculptures in the city to community art' which arises from the memory of the historic exhibition 'Arnaldo Pomodoro: Sculptures in the city 1971': in the loggia, two sculptures by Pomodoro and archive materials to delve deeper into the work of one of the greatest Italian artists, in the Suffragio church the proposals of ten authors under 35. Lo blank space – headquarters of the Pescheria Foundation dedicated to photography and images -, welcomes 'Everything hides a secret. New shots' with the recent work of Maria Letizia Morini from Pesaro, an artist with Down syndrome who began photographing at the age of ten. At the Rossini Gallery, the fifth edition of the collective art exhibition that showcases painters, sculptors and ceramists from Pesaro 'Solidarity Art', a project born in 2019 on the initiative of the voluntary association 'Solidarity Platform'. Allo TORRSO space, the exhibition 'Body Environment' by Michele Cotelli and Giulia Seri, the second appointment of the UN/NATURAL exhibition in which the new gallery in the historic center opens its doors and its basements to give life to an organic installation, a corpus of images and scenarios.
