Paolo Taviani, the memory of Pupi Avati: «He was still full of enthusiasm, I will miss him».
At 18pm yesterday he died Rome, in the Villa Pia clinic, the director Paolo Taviani, 92 years old, after a short illness. The master of Italian cinema he passed away close to his wife Lina Nerli Taviani and his children Ermanno and Valentina. The secular funeral ceremony will be held on Monday 4 March at the Protomoteca del Campidoglio from 10am to 13pm.
After the disappearance of Vittorio, on April 15, 2018, he also leaves Paul. The two formed one of the most influential couples in Italian cinema. “The Taviani brothers” over time they have become a real "cinematic brand".
The latest film by Paul, alone, “Goodbye Leonora”, presented in competition at Berlin in 2022, follows the daring journey of the ashes of Pirandello, from Rome to Agrigento, fifteen years after his death.
