Cremona, 10 March 2021 – Friday 12 March, at 17pm, live streaming appointment on the Facebook page of the Municipality of Cremona Politiche Sociali and on the YouTube channel of the Municipality of Cremona, for the presentation of the book LAQUILONE written by Maurizio Migliorati, known to all as Mauro.

In addition to the author, the Mayor will participate Gianluca Galimberti, the Councilor for Cultural Systems Luca Burgazzi and the Councilor for Social Policies and Fragility Rosita Viola who organized the meeting with the collaboration of Cristiano Rebecchi who will read some passages from the book. He will also intervene Giulia Renzi, Mauro's friend who followed him step by step in the adventure.

The author he lives in a farmhouse on the outskirts of Robecco d'Oglio, and is married with two children. His life was intense, full of hard work. When, after the age of fifty, he could have slowed down the pace with the help of his children, unfortunately he fell ill and here his second life began, as an ALS patient. Recently he thought of enclosing his difficult adventure in the book LAQUILONE.

The book tells the human adventure of a breeder, accustomed to never sitting still. In 2012 he was diagnosed with ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: a sort of capital execution, with the death of one muscle at a time.

But if almost all the muscles are gone, the brain has not stopped, nor has the heart been silenced, understood not as a muscular pump, but as synonymous with attention to life. Thus, without using his annihilated hands, he told her story in a book, where she keeps the reader company in 76 pages, full not so much of ink, but of feelings.

In the book Mauro talks about his life and it is a humble, simple book, written by a farmer, who however wants to convey an important life message, thanks to a set of indelible memories and emotions from his first life. The book was written entirely with an ocular communicator, also with the aim of trying to help research against this insidious disease.

Maurizio Migliorati founded the association in 2015 Robin Hood which aims to organize socio-gastronomic-cultural events whose proceeds are donated to those who help people with serious disabilities and/or in serious life difficulties. He also created a blog The resilience of the kite. The proceeds from the sale of the book, minus out-of-pocket expenses, will be donated entirely to charity. In Cremona the book is available at the Conference Bookshop in Corso Campi, 72
