Brescia, n°3391 a special story to pay homage to the statue that can soon be admired at the Capitolium in Brescia

Brescia, New appointment on newsstands with Mickey Mouse, who this week strengthens his bond with the world of art. In issue 3391 available from Wednesday 18 November, in fact, Mickey Mouse celebrates an important restoration: that of the Winged Victory, a fascinating sculpture rich in history that will soon be able to be admired in Brescia, the city that has always welcomed it. Mickey Mouse pays homage to Winged Victory with the story Mickey Mouse and the Adventure of Winged Minnie Mouse, which tells the story of her two-thousand-year-old myth.

In Mickey Mouse and the Adventure of the Winged Minni - written and screenplayed by Roberto Gagnor and illustrated by Valerio Held -, Trudy and Gambadilegno enter the Santa Giulia museum in Brescia to carry out a theft, but remain hostage of an educational hologram that tells the story of the precious Winged Minni and which will take the two thieves on a journey through time, from ancient Greece, passing through Roman times up to the present day, through the stories of the vicissitudes experienced by Nike. Will this "journey through history" be able to stop Trudy and Gambadilegno's evil intentions?

The history of the Winged Minni takes inspiration, therefore, from the Winged Victory, a splendid bronze statue that is about two thousand years old, arrived in Brescia during the Roman Empire and found in 1826 during the archaeological excavations of the Roman temple. The discovery gave a "new life" to the statue, making it appreciated by visitors from all over the world and becoming a muse for artists and poets. And now, a recent careful restoration has reinvigorated its beauty, which will soon be able to be admired in a new and modern exhibition inside the Capitolium of Brescia, redesigned by Juan Navarro Baldeweg, famous Spanish architect.

Fondazione Brescia Musei and the Municipality of Brescia, promoters together with the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of the Provinces of Bergamo and Brescia of the restoration conducted by the Opificio delle Pietre Dure of Florence, and, to underline the importance of the project, will also donate a copy of Mickey Mouse number 3391 to all the children of primary and nursery schools in Brescia.

The appointment with Mickey Mouse 3391 and Winged Minnie Mouse, which once again confirms the weekly narrative approach that is always dynamic and full of creativity and imagination, is on Wednesday 18th November on newsstands and on www.panini.it!

The Winged Victory will enhance the Brixia archaeological area - Archaeological Park of Brescia Romana and its return is accompanied by a rich schedule of exhibition events at the Santa Giulia Museum and at the Capitolium.
