Andrea Romano guest at 'Incontri Capitali' in Pesaro 2024: he will present his latest book 'Future humanity. History of left told to my children'.
Will Andrea Romano university professor and former parliamentarian of the Democratic Party, the protagonist of the next appointment with the 'Capital encounters' di Pesaro 2024 – Italian capital of culture, scheduled Wednesday March 6, in the municipal council room (18.30 pm). Romano will present his latest book 'Future humanity. History of the left told to my children' published by Piemme, in a conversation with the journalist Silvia Sinibaldi.
The author looks back a century and a half of the left in Italy, from the first steps of modern socialism to the latest events of the Democratic Party, addressing words such as "rights", "peace", "Europe", "work", "anti-fascism" with the language of the parent even before that of the historian and through the point of view of the younger ones. The question is: what remains today of those ideals, of those battles, of a vocabulary that moved entire generations in the name of the equality of the human race, that "future humanity" sung in the International? Through the understanding of a long and complex history, the intent is to give younger people the useful tools to understand and face the present.
