Crotone, joint operation "Focus 'Ndrangheta" in Cutro: one person reported and fines totaling over €6.

Joint checks by the State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Port Authority, and Labor Inspectorate as part of the national Focus on 'Ndrangheta plan. Businesses, individuals, and vehicles were inspected.

An important joint operation was conducted in the territory of Cutro within the framework of the national and transnational action plan “Focus 'Ndrangheta”, prepared by order of Crotone Police Chief Renato Panvino following the decisions taken at the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, chaired by Prefect Franca Ferraro.

The activity, coordinated by a State Police officer, saw the joint involvement of State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Port Authority and Labour Inspectorate, engaged in a series of targeted checks on commercial establishments, people and vehicles along the main arteries of the municipality of Cutro.

Checks and irregularities found

During the checks, the police found various irregularities in an activity of administration of food and drinks where they were installed slot machine.

The owner of the place was reported to the Judicial Authority for failure to display the table of prohibited gamesbesides being administratively sanctioned for:

  • starting a local business without submitting the SCIA (sanction of 5.164 €);

  • failure to comply with the requirements regarding external surveillance of the premises (sanction of 1.032 €).

During the inspection it also emerged that the business was managed by a person other than the owner, without the prescribed notification of collaboration to INAIL.

Other activities inspected

During the inspections, they were six commercial activities were checked, among which car rental company e fuel dispensers.

In particular, the following were detected:

  • irregularities in the documentation of vehicle loading and unloading registers at two car rental companies, for which reports will follow to the competent authorities;

  • failure to communicate fuel prices at a distributor, in violation of price transparency rules.

The results of the "Focus 'Ndrangheta" operation

The prevention and control activity produced the following overall results:

  • 166 people identified, Of which 57 positive results in the SDI database;

  • 100 vehicles checked;

  • 6 commercial establishments inspected;

  • 2 fines issued for a total of 6.196 euros;

  • 1 person reported to the Judicial Authority.

The operation “Focus 'Ndrangheta” falls within the strategic plan for the prevention and fight against organized crime e economic illegality, with the coordination of Crotone Police Headquarters and the collaboration of the main police forces and territorial control bodies.
