Crotone: Intensified controls on the territory, 100 rejections and 25 expulsions

The Police Chief of the Province of Crotone Renato Panvino has drawn up a plan to control the territory by intensifying road checks and employing the staff of the Immigration Office of the Crotone Police Headquarters. In fact, within the massive extraordinary territorial control services in the city of Crotone and in the province, over 90 non-EU citizens have been identified, not only in order to verify their regularity on the national territory, but also for the specific purpose of verifying the actual correspondence of the documentation presented at the time of issuing the residence permit.

Furthermore, only in the last period, the Police Chief of the Province of Crotone has issued 100 rejections against foreign citizens. The rejected foreigners arrived on the national territory following the landing last month, and after being identified, they were notified of the rejection order with a simultaneous order to leave the national territory. Also in February, three Georgian citizens were expelled and repatriated to their country of origin.

The expulsion measures carried out by the Immigration Office of the Crotone Police Headquarters are in the wake of theOperation against illegal immigration carried out in January by the Pythagorean Flying Squad, under the aegis of the Catanzaro District Anti-Mafia Directorate, which saw the execution of a custody order against Georgian and Italian citizens held responsible regarding participation in an association dedicated to facilitating the entry and stay on Italian territory of numerous Georgian citizens, all in conflict with immigration regulations.

Last week was also, a 26-year-old Albanian citizen was expelled and repatriated to his country of origin. The same person, tracked down as part of the extraordinary territorial control service carried out in the municipality of Cirò Marina (KR), had entered Italy two years ago and had remained illegally on the national territory. The subsequent verification of his position on the national territory culminated with a expulsion order following which he was repatriated to his country of origin by the agents of the Crotone Police Headquarters. Therefore, from the beginning of the year to today the Immigration Office of the Crotone Police Headquarters has carried out against migrants who do not have the right to remain on the national territory 100 rejections, over 25 expulsions and 4 repatriations with escort to the border.
