Cotronei, investigation into public funds and the "Borgo della Musica Rock – Steven Tyler": 15 people under investigation, including administrators, officials, and private individuals.

I Carabinieri of the Petilia Policastro Company, by delegation of Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crotone directed by the Prosecutor Domenico Guarascio, they notified 15 notices pursuant to art. 415-bis of the Code of Criminal Procedure towards as many subjects - between public administrators, municipal officials and private citizens — investigated, in various capacities, for crimes against public administrationThe alleged crimes include: ideological and material forgery in a public document, aggravated fraud for the purpose of obtaining public funds, electoral corruption, extortion, and bribery e attempted undue inducement to give or promise benefits.

The investigation, which lasted over three years, concerned alleged irregularities in the administrative management of the Municipality of Cotronei, bringing to light document forgery, anomalous procurement procedures e external pressures by private individuals who would have tried to influence political and administrative decisions to gain undue economic advantages.

One of the main lines of investigation concerns the project “Rock Music Village – Steven Tyler”, an ambitious cultural and tourist intervention by 1,3 million euros of regional funds, born from an agreement between the municipal administration and the famous leader of the Aerosmith, Steven Tyler, whose family has origins in Cotronei.

The initiative included the creation of a Rock Museum and an free inaugural concert of the American artist and his daughter, the actress Liv Tyler, as a symbolic gesture of gratitude towards one's roots. However, serious technical and administrative irregularities — including false documents, missing landscape authorizations, omissions of opinions and illegitimate expropriation procedures — have brought to the failure to complete the work.

According to what was reconstructed by the military, the investigations would have brought to light incidents of fraud in public procurement, electoral corruption and undue pressure against local officials, administrators and entrepreneurs. The investigative activity, conducted through Document analysis, technical investigations, witness hearings and accounting checks, has allowed us to reconstruct the decision-making chain and flows of influence which, in the prosecution's case, would have compromised the regularity of the administrative action.

The notification of the conclusion of the investigations represents a guarantee act for the suspects, who will now be able to access the documents and exercise one's rights of defense, in full compliance with presumption of innocence until a final conviction.
