Crotone: State Police arrest man for stalking and assault

The policemen of the Crotone Police Headquarters have implemented the order of Application of the coercive measure of house arrest with the application of an electronic bracelet against a man investigated for the crimes of stalking and assault committed against the ex-wife's previous partner.

The precautionary measure was issued following the complaint filed by the unfortunate man who reported being subjected to a series of aggressive and violent behaviors by the ex-husband of his ex-partner, who refused that the two, despite having broken off their romantic relationship, were in agreement in managing their children.

The aggressor's behaviors were expressed in violent attacks and threats capable of causing the victim a lasting and serious state of anxiety and fear for his own safety, so much so as to force him to change his lifestyle.

In light of the complaint made by the man, the police officers of the specialized section “Crimes against the person” of the Flying Squad immediately activated the so-called procedure "Code Red", managing to reconstruct, through in-depth investigations, a series of attacks and threats carried out by the man who, also through the use of telematic tools, stalked the victim.

The investigative insights and the results of the investigative activity, covered by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crotone, led by the prosecutor Dr. Domenico Guarascio, and entrusted to the pool of specialized magistrates in this matter, they converged in a request for precautionary measures which was accepted by the GIP of the Court of Crotone and immediately executed by the Flying Squad against the suspect, who was placed under House arrest.

Today's provision confirms the attention and commitment that the State Police dedicates to the crimes that fall within the "Red Code" and testifies to the constant work of prevention and contrast against persecutory conduct and gender-based violence, strongly desired by the Police Chief of the Province of Crotone, Dr. Renato Panvino.

The Crotone Police Headquarters reiterates the importance of promptly reporting any form of threat or harassment, underlining how collaboration between institutions and citizens is essential to prevent and interrupt the cycle of violence.
