Crotone: Joint operation "Focus 'Ndrangheta" saw three people reported during checks in Cirò and Cirò Marina.

An important joint operation was conducted in the territory of the Municipalities of Ciro and Ciro Marina, within the national and transnational plan Focus 'Ndrangheta, prepared by order of the Police Commissioner of Crotone Renato Panvino and resolved upon Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, chaired by the Prefect Franca Ferraro.

The activity, coordinated by a State Police Officer, involved operators from: State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Port Authority, and Labour Inspectorate.

The checks targeted businesses, people, and vehicles along the area's main thoroughfares, with a view to strengthening law enforcement.

Betting shop check: owner reported

During the investigations, a betting shop was subjected to administrative inspection.

The investigations revealed violations of the provisions imposed by the Public Safety Authority.

The investigative checks started immediately also led to the discovery of a notebook containing loan notes granted to customers to place bets, conduct deemed irregular.

The owner was reported to the Judicial Authority.

Winery without the Single Environmental Authorization

During an inspection of a cellar, it emerged that the business was without the Single Environmental Authorization, required for operations subject to specific environmental requirements.

The operators have drawn up the relevant prescriptions to bring the business back into regulatory compliance.

Auto Center: Administrative and criminal irregularities, two reports filed

A further check concerned a car center.
The investigations highlighted:

• Failure to register the data of the user of a rental vehicle on the CARGOS portal: complaint of the owner;

• Incomplete SCIA for the rental service: fines and immediate suspension of activity;

• irregularities in the holding of the loading register of used vehicles and failure to establish a business agency register: further sanctions;

• a vehicle for sale with fake front license plate: complaint of the owner and seizure of the license plate.

The operation is part of a broader strategy of prevention and repression of crimes, with targeted services in the commercial, environmental and transport sectors.

The intervention confirms the institutions' commitment to upholding legality and supporting businesses that operate in compliance with the rules.
