Woman arrested for stalking in San Demetrio Corone: the fight against gender violence continues

The Carabinieri of the San Demetrio Corone Station, during the execution of a specific service aimed at controlling the territory, they arrested, red-handed, a woman who was allegedly responsible for stalking another citizen of the aforementioned municipality. The preventive activity carried out by the military of the Arma arose following alleged repeated harassing behaviors that the arrested woman allegedly carried out altered the victim's lifestyle. In particular, the reported conduct would have generated a state of anxiety and fear such as to cause fear for the safety of the victim.

The woman was arrested pursuant to art. 612 bis CP in close coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Castrovillari led by Dr. Alessandro D'Alessio, has been made available to the Judicial Authority. The attention paid by the military of the Arma in fight against gender violence constitutes one of the most important aspects in the daily execution of the institute service. These types of crimes, in fact, generate in the victim a deep state of discomfort and closure that worsens with the passing of time and the number of events. Proactive listening, as well as constant information and control activity of the territory, allow the Carabinieri to intercept requests for help from the local population. In particular, for these types of crimes, collaboration between the institutions and the citizens is essential, who are called to always contact the Police Forces to provide any information in order to prosecute the specific types of crime.
