Cosenza: woman abused by her husband decides to report, prohibition on approaching the man is triggered.

Last day, State Police personnel carried out an Order for the application of a personal precautionary measure prohibiting a forty-year-old from approaching his wife and her minor children.

The suspect is charged with the crimes of mistreatment against family members and cohabitants, aggravated by having committed the crime in the presence of his minor children, as well as aggravated injuries against his minor daughter.

The provision comes at the conclusion of a rapid and intense investigative activity coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office and launched following a complaint/complaint filed by the offended party last 17 June, collected by the Flying Squad policemen.

The policemen, specialized in dealing with crimes against people belonging to the so-called category. vulnerable groups, listened to the woman, collecting detailed descriptions of the various episodes of mistreatment.

The woman stated that she had married the man about three years ago, and that the relationship had immediately become particularly problematic due to the man's violent attitude. She reported having been subjected to abuse, consisting of slaps, kicks, punches, and strong tugs on her hair, which on one occasion even caused a lock of hair to fall out.

The escalation of the man's violence reached its peak a few days ago, when, at the height of a violent argument inside the marital home, the woman ran into the street to escape the man's violence. She returned to the house immediately after hearing her daughter's screams and found that one of her younger daughters had suffered a broken finger.

The investigative activity allowed the investigation already acquired on the suspect to be identified and enriched with further episodes.

The investigation activity, started by the Mobile Squad personnel and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor of Cosenza, found its epilogue in the execution of the precautionary measure, and confirms once again the commitment, the particular attention and sensitivity of the State Police, of the men of the Police Headquarters, directed by the Police Chief of the Province of Cosenza, Dr. Giuseppe Cannizzaro, and of the Judicial Authority, in addressing with careful and timely intervention the phenomenon of gender violence and the protection of the weaker groups.

The man will not be able to approach the places frequented by the offended party and their children, maintaining a distance of no less than 500 meters and must refrain from contacting the woman by any means. Furthermore, constant monitoring of compliance with the ban has been arranged through the activation and use of the electronic bracelet.
