Cosenza: the results of the preventive measures adopted in February to protect public safety

The prevention activity carried out by the State Police of Cosenza continues without stopping and, through the work carried out by the Anti-Crime Division of the local Police Headquarters, has achieved important results.

In the past month, in fact, the Police Chief of the Province of Cosenza, Dr. Giuseppe Cannizzaro, issued 3 Dacur, 31 oral warnings, 5 mandatory expulsion orders and 16 warnings, also proposing to the Court of Prevention Measures Section of Catanzaro the application of the preventive measure of special surveillance against 4 individuals.

The Dacur, orders prohibiting parking in certain areas of the city, were issued against two individuals residing in Paola and one resident in the municipality of Cosenza. In particular, the first two engaged in conduct dangerous to public order and safety, causing disorder within the central Piazza del Popolo in Paola and attacking the police forces who intervened on site. The third Dacur involved an illegal parking attendant who was carrying out this activity in the center of Cosenza and despite two orders to leave notified by the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, he continued his illegal activity, making it necessary to adopt the measure; for this conduct he was reported to the competent Judicial Authority.

Mandatory expulsion orders were issued to criminals who were dangerous to public safety and who were in a municipality other than their residence. They were prohibited from returning to the aforementioned municipalities for a period of three years.

16 warnings were issued and notified to as many individuals residing in the province who engaged in serious stalking and mistreatment of partners, wives and cohabitants.

Finally, 4 proposals for Special Surveillance were submitted to the competent Judicial Authority against individuals deemed dangerous, with previous convictions for mafia association, property crimes and others.

The activity described is evidence of the constant commitment shown by the operators of the Cosenza State Police in the prevention of crimes in general to protect public safety.
