Cosenza: checks and searches in the city, two men arrested.

The State Police carried out, as part of the extraordinary services called "High Impact", ordered by the Police Chief of the Province of Cosenza Dr. Giuseppe Cannizzaro, coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, several checks in the capital Bruzio.

During the course of these services, two men were arrested in the outskirts of the city of Cosenza by police officers from the Flying Squad, with the collaboration of colleagues from the UPGSP, the Dog Unit of the Vibo Valentia Police Headquarters and the Northern Calabria Crime Prevention Unit.

In particular, on the morning in question, the police officers carried out a check on a man under house arrest. The latter, delaying the opening of the door to the police officers, threw two packages from the back window of the house, a scene observed by other officers. The packages then recovered in the space behind the building where the house stands turned out to contain, one 14,30 grams of cocaine and the other a precision electronic scale and therefore were seized. Once the ritual formalities were completed, the man was placed under house arrest, pending the validation hearing.

At the same time, other operators of the Flying Squad went to the home of another man, with no criminal record, located in another area of the city, to carry out a house search.

The subject, despite repeated requests from the officers, did not open the door. However, the police officers managed to enter the premises through a skylight in the attic. When the search began, they found three cellophane packages in the house, containing approximately 187 grams of cocaine and 0,5 grams of marijuana, as well as material instrumental to the packaging and dealing activity, such as a precision electronic scale and a vacuum machine.

The Scientific Police proceeded to document the state of the places and to collect the seized items. Taking into account the results of the investigation, the latter suspect was arrested and taken to the Cosenza District Prison.
