Cosenza: arrested red-handed by Flying Squad Agents for car theft.

The personnel serving at the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid of this Police Headquarters, directed by the Police Commissioner of the province of Cosenza, Dr. Giuseppe Cannizzaro, have arrested two men, aged 48 and 23 respectively, for the crime of aggravated theft in competition.

Following a report received on the emergency number 112NUE of the theft in progress of a car by two disguised men in the area of ​​Via Popilia, the Flying Squad officers, in transit on Viale Mancini as part of territorial control services, promptly intervened on site and, after a brief chase, managed to intercept the car in question with the two individuals on board. The individuals, stopped while still wearing their neck warmers and latex gloves, were found in possession of tools suitable for burglary.

The defendants, both with criminal records and with oral warnings in place, were arrested in flagrante delicto and, by order of the Public Prosecutor on duty, were first subjected to the measure of house arrest pending trial and, following a hearing to validate the arrest, subjected to the obligation to report to the Judicial Police.
