Corigliano Rossano, businessman arrested for mistreatment in the family.

On September 17, the Carabinieri of the Corigliano Scalo Station, supported by the other components of the Corigliano Rossano Territorial Department, with the investigative coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Castrovillari, directed by Chief Prosecutor Alessandro D'Alessio, arrested, in execution of a precautionary prison measure issued by the GIP Office of the Court of Castrovillari, a 40-year-old with no criminal record, seriously suspected of the crime of "mistreatment in the family".

Before continuing with the reconstruction of the facts, it seems appropriate to specify that the news is being released to guarantee the prerogatives of information and in compliance with the rights of the suspect - still to be considered subject to the presumption of innocence, given the current stage of the proceedings, whose criminal responsibilities can be ascertained only through a sentence that has become irrevocable, ed.

«Continuous mistreatment consisting of systematic harassment and humiliation, denigration of her physical appearance, even to the point of imposing her clothing, insults to make her feel ugly from an aesthetic point of view, the forcing her to leave her job to increase her degree of economic dependence, in addition to serious physical aggression characterized by a high degree of violence»: these aspects, recalled in the precautionary measure, represented the scenario in which a very young mother from Corigliano Rossano was forced to live.

A period of suffering, limitations and constraints that made the young woman feel inadequate, until the exasperation of what she was experiencing and the fear for herself and her children pushed her to say enough and turn to the Carabinieri.

Once the phases of the attacks and harassment were reconstructed, the woman and her children were taken to a protected community, where they can spend their days in peace.

Instead, the Prosecutor's Office requested a precautionary measure against the potential person responsible for the behaviors prohibited by the Law, which would be able to limit the possibility of repetition of the crimes and would serve to prevent the situation from degenerating, with the primary aim of defending these people, who can be traced back to the panorama of the so-called "weak groups".

Having assessed all the circumstances and the evidence gathered by the Carabinieri, the competent Preliminary Investigations Judge issued the precautionary measure of pre-trial detention in prison, which is why the interested party was arrested and transferred to the Castrovillari prison, where he will remain at the disposal of the Magistrates.
