Corigliano-Rossano: Aggravated mistreatment and injuries towards one's partner, precautionary measure of removal executed

The investigations of the State Police Station of Corigliano-Rossano originated from the first intervention of the Flying Squad, which arrived at the couple's home, following request for intervention from the woman, he immediately noticed various bruises on her face but above all a noticeably swollen eye. First aid was provided by 118 personnel, the woman was transported to the Rossano hospital for treatment.

In the circumstance the victim, reassured by the officers present on site, she confided in a series of harassing behaviors towards her by her partner, which often degenerated into physical and verbal violence. Once the complaint was collected within the hospital, we proceeded, under the direct coordination of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, headed by Dr. Alessandro D'Alessio, to adopt a emergency measure to remove the child from the family home.

The investigation activity subsequently allowed for the collection of evidence against the man, on the basis of which, at the request of the competent magistrate, the aforementioned precautionary measure has been validated by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Castrovillari who issued the implementing ordinance. The man was removed from the family home and will not be able to approach the injured party or the places usually frequented by the latter, with the obligation to maintain a distance of no less than 300 metres.

The investigation activity confirms the commitment and the particular attention and sensitivity of the State Police personnel, directed in the Province by the Police Commissioner Cannizzaro, and the Judicial Authority, in addressing with careful and timely intervention the phenomenon of gender violence and the protection of vulnerable groups.
