Cosenza: The suspect in the murder of a thirty-year-old Moroccan man has been arrested after a three-day search.

La State Police of Cosenza, coordinated by Prosecutor's Office of Castrovillari, performed a arrest of a crime suspect against a 31 year old foreign citizen, deemed alleged perpetrator of the murder of a thirty-year-old Moroccan national.

The man, after three days of intense searches, was traced in a rural area of ​​the urban area of ​​Rossano by investigators from the Flying Squad of the Cosenza Police Headquarters, with the support of State Police Station of Corigliano-Rossano.

The crime and the initial investigations

The murder dates back to the Tuesday evening, November 4th, when the victim was killed with seven stab wounds inside a house shared with three other compatriots.

According to initial reconstructions, the group had gathered for a moment of prayer, when one of those present – ​​later identified as the alleged perpetrator – allegedly attacked the victim by repeatedly stabbing her with a knife, then flee and hide in the surrounding countryside.

Despite the lack of cooperation from the witnesses present, the investigators have started an intense research activity, beating for days the entire coastal strip of Corigliano–Rossano.

Thanks to the coordination of the Castrovillari Prosecutor's Office, Flying Squad and staff of the Corigliano-Rossano Police Station they located the suspected on the morning of November 7th, placing it in state of judicial police custody.

The man was later associated with the Cosenza Prison, available to the Judicial Authority.
