Yesterday morning, in Lucca, the soldiers of the Capannori Carabinieri station proceeded with the arrest of a 44-year-old Italian, resident in Pisa, with various criminal prejudices, for the crime of residential burglary. At 09:00, a Carabinieri patrol in civilian clothes engaged in a specific service to combat the phenomenon of home burglaries, intercepted the 44-year-old driving his car on the Lucca plain.

Given that it had been the same reported as a possible perpetrator of theft, also in relation to the numerous specific precedents, the soldiers of the Army decided to follow him and followed him at a distance for over an hour, as he traveled through the hamlets of San Leonardo in Treponzio, Lunata and the center of Capannori, until he stopped in Via dell'Ave Maria in the hamlet of Lammari, where he parked the vehicle, to walk towards a house. After about 20 minutes, i Carabinieri who carefully observed his movements, they saw him return towards the car.

Suspicious at the fact that he had in his hands the jacket he had previously worn wrapped up in a bundle, they decided to have it checked by a patrol wearing the institute colours, who stopped him in nearby Via Pesciatina. Subjected to personal search, also extended to the vehicle, was found in possession of a large screwdriver numerous gold jewellery and several watches, for a value of approximately 4000,00 euros, while the subsequent search carried out at his home in Pisa gave a negative result.

The stolen goods, recovered in full, were returned to the rightful owner. The 44-year-old, at the end of the legal formalities, was transported to the Lucca prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
